Our Story

Our lovingly restored and renovated industrial style Venue Bowers Mill, is situated in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. Bowers Mill is surrounded by woodland, and a lake sits in front of the mill.

We restored the space giving a nod to its original mill heritage. There are some wonderful original features that we have kept within The Venue, including the original mill floor in the Spinning Room, which overlooks the rooftops of Bowers Mill. The latest addition to the mill, is an eleven-bedroom boutique hotel which is located within the Bowers Mill complex.

We hope that you enjoy looking through our wedding packages. Along with these packages we also can offer bespoke packages to suit your own taste, style and budget too.

We look forward to welcoming you and your guests to The Venue Bowers Mill in the very near future.

Warm wishes,
Adam & Nicola Walton.

We hold three Wedding licences; The Bowers Suite, The Spinning Room and an outdoor licence where vows can be taken under the pagoda overlooking a lake.

In addition to hosting wonderful Weddings, we also host; Awards Ceremonies, Galas, Charity Balls, and Corporate Meetings and Conferences. We are also used as a location for Photography and Television.

History of Bowers Mill

Bowers Mill was built in the 17th century as water powered Fulling Mill, Corn Mill and finally a Woollen Mill. Textile manufacture was started by two brothers Joseph & Samuel Taylor and J & S Taylor occupied the mill from 1882 until they moved premises in 1991.

All the processes to produce cloth were carried out here in the mill by J & S Taylor; blending, spinning, weaving, scouring, dyeing and finishing. A portrait of Joseph proudly sits behind the bar in our main event space.
